Dr.Huan Luo is interested in employing cognitive behavioral approaches combined with brain mapping techniques (e.g., fMRI, MEG, etc.) to investigate: (1) Temporal organization (temporal segmentation, integration, coordination, etc.) in various cognitive processes, including but not limited to sensory processing, perception, attention, learning, memory and consciousness; (2) Neuronal oscillation mechanism that may critically mediate the temporal organization process.


After obtained her Ph.D. in Neuroscience and Cognitive Science from University of Maryland College Park (UMD) in 2007, she then worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Cognitive Neuroscience of Language Laboratory at UMD. She came back to China and worked at the Institute of Biophysics at Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), first as an associate professor from 2007 to 2012, and as a professor from 2012 to 2014. Since December 1, 2014, she is a Principal Investigator at IDG/McGovern Institute for Brain Research at PKU, and also a PI at the Department of Psychology, Peking University.
